As New York City prepares for Hurricane Irene, activity on the Hudson River waterfront at Yonkers shows how some are getting themselves ready for the approaching storm:

..the army arrives…

…a tugboat captain on standby duty looks out on the river…

…”still gotta work today?”…

…heading North…but still on the river…

…all trains, planes and buses to stop running at noon in New York City…Metro North’s last train heading North out of Yonkers…

I will use my Manila Typhoon Training to report on the local events as I see them out of my window (I’m not stupid enough to actually go out in the middle of a storm, duhhh)…
